I liked it

Nice job with this. I haven't seen any other episodes, but this was pretty good. Well animated for the most part and the voice acting was great, especially considering it was all done by one person. There were some weak points in the plot/dialogue, but you capitalized on them by actually acknowledging them in the movie itself, which was interesting. Hey, keep up the good work.

Lot of work in this one...

...and it shows. It's good to see movies like this in which the creator takes the time and effort to really do things right. Everything from the animation and sound to the DVD menu were well done. Even little touches, like the clocks ticking to the ACTUAL time were great. The story was alright. Pretty good parody of cop drama movies with some Clock Crew flair. Good work.

WOW

Great animation from some great artists. Funny, well-timed to the music, professionally animated, great frame-by frame -- it's all good.

well...

... I guess if you can steal three or four giraffes, a fifth one probably wouldn't make much difference.

mumbla responds:

it would totally make a difference! i mean you would have 5 giraffes!

hahaha

good stuff.

Great series

I can't get over how great the story-telling is in this series. Even though the art isn't technically all that great, you certainly have an eye for good cinematography, timing, and visual representation. Of course, the art IS improving dramatically in every episode, so pretty soon everything will be great. The music and sound effects, as always, are good and really add to the atmosphere. I was wondering though, didn't you guys have tryouts for voice actors a while back? Whatever happened to that?

Pretty good

The animation was pretty nicely done - polished and relatively smooth. Story wasn't really much my taste, but it was still alright. Inspirational and what not.

If you want your sound to sync up to the music you have to set it to "stream" (this makes it load faster, too). To do this, go to the layer with the sound and open up the properties window (in MX it's usually at the bottom of the screen). Then go under the sound menu and look for the the drop down menu for "Sync." Right now your Sync is probably set to "Event." The Event setting just starts playing the sound at a particular time, and isn't tied to the animation. Set it to "Stream" instead. Now your animation and the music will be linked together permanently, instead of moving in and out of sync based on processor speed and browser settings. You'll also notice that if you click and drag your cursor back and forth over the part of the timeline that has the sound, you can "scrub" the audio (the sound will play based on where the cursor is). Also, you don't have to go back to the beginning of a sound to hear it play while working on it Flash. Something to think about for the future.

Darunio responds:

That's a really good idea. Its a shame that it brings down the quality of the audio. I've got the preloader so that I don't have to worry bout that. The scrubbing thing is real neat though, it works really nicely in Flash but when I play it as an SWF some sounds are premature... not sure why that happens. If you can help me get around these problems I'll be sure to update the .swf, thanks Mr Raven. Heh heh.

The best...ever...

The bar for flash gets raised again and again, and as far as I can see, and I see lots of flash movies all over the place, this is probably one of the top two or three best animated flash movies as of right now. Although some other movies might have some technical stuff that may be better, I personally have to say this is the best I've seen, and the story/idea is the kind of stuff I like to see.

First off, the backgrounds are extremely detailed, the character design/animation is smooth and professional, and the ambience/ timing/ lighting/ camera movements/ special effects are spectacular. And of course, to top it all off on the visual side, you got the great 3D animation. The sound effects are very well executed and the sequence at the beginning with the song sets you up for the rest of the movie. The contrast between the calm and the action is well played out. So, basically, point by point, this Flash has everything modern Flash has to offer.

If you made the entire series (at least 30-40 minutes of actual animation) and put it all on a DVD with special features and stuff, I can almost guarantee you that at least 1,000+ people would buy it. Even other merchandise, like posters or t-shirts would probably sell. If you advertised it at the end of your final episode on NG, you would make a lot of money, dude.

Wow...

...that was just...wow. A really great parody. Anyone that's played MGS will be able to relate to the stuff in the first part of the movie. And the stuff in the last part was just insane. Good work.

creepy and well made

There's a lot of ways that a movie like this could have just fell flat on its face and turned out really stupid. However, you managed to pull it off. This captured that whole dark, creepy thing really well. The voice acting was good and the art/animation was sufficiently weird-looking. As insane as this character that you've created is, he's kind of interesting. Nice work.

ra-ven 1. A large scavenging bird (Corvus corax) having glossy black plumage and a guttural croaking cry. It is generally found in arctic and temperate climates in the northern hemisphere. Can be taught to mimic human speech.
