That was bad

Yeah, that was pretty terrible. I mean, what the hell do you think you're doing? Translating Shakespeare into "Black people talk"?!? That's just offensive. Have you even met a Black person before? You pulled just about every stereotype you could have given the circumstances.

Besides, this doesn't even show that you have really grasped the meaning of the Shakespeare stuff. If you were trying to update "Romeo & Juliet" and put it in a modern context, you failed miserably. What did your English teacher say about it?

Stoned-Gorilla responds:

oh my goooddd , black people saying 'yo', hitler is alive runnn/.

The end redeemed most of the movie...

...because it seemed to make me laugh for no good reason. Anyway, the rest was only mildly amusing, and the animation is slightly above average. However, in both content and presentation, this movie shows much promise for future improvement. Keep up the good work and keep practicing.

Thanx this review is inpiring.

Funny stuff

The animation wasn't fantastic or anything, but it was pretty friggin' hilarious.

Knox responds:

i think the animation was smooth..are you ok?..thanks any way though.

Good symbolism, etc.

I especially liked the symbolism of the scissors and how they played into the imagination of a self-mutilating person. Although the animation could have been cleaned up a little, you did an overall good job of using the artwork to heighten your theme. The part where the guy was getting beat up by the imaginary guy was stylistically very well done. Great job tying it all together with the music. Keep it up.

adam-p89 responds:

Thanks for reviewing, sorry about the bad artwork in the beginning!

It could have been cool...

It might have been an ok tribute if you actually did the entire intro sequence and used the right music. If you actually hand-traced that stuff, it might have taken some effort. However, this didn't have any creativity and, in my opinion, you didn't really finish what you were trying to do. Also, I must say, it's barely worth it to do flash movies at 29 frames per second. It generally just adds unnecessary file size and eats up RAM. Anyway, you have talent, though. Try to use it better.

mechanichrist responds:

i'll put my work against yours any day...oh wait, you don't have any....suprise, suprise.

Story-telling at its finest

No action, no violence, but plenty of good plot and story-telling techniques. Great job. I wish I could see movies like this more often. It's a good change of pace from a majority of what people try to make with sprite movies. Oh, and one more thing. I know this is a relatively minor detail, but after frequenting Newgrounds for a long while, it is something I really appreciate: you spelled everything correctly! It really takes away from the professionalism of a movie when every other word is spelled wrong. I mean, a typo every now and then is ok, but...Well, I didn't have that problem, here. Again, great job. I'm looking forward to the next one.

SplashKhat responds:

Im actually horrible at proper grammer. The Special Thanks seen in the credts goes to the 2 spellcheckers who hated to see the typos and have helped plenty with the last few movies. But thanks all the same ^^

That was friggin' hilarious!

Hey, this series is some pretty good stuff. It's a lot more creative than a majority of what you see Newgrounds. The jokes are all done very well, and the voice-acting is great. Keep it up!

Not much stuff to see here

First of all, I have to ask you, did you really get the point of the sound clip? I've heard that clip, before, in its entirety. It is real phone call between the guy that does the voice of Krillin in the U.S. version of DBZ and one of the English writers/translators. The guy laughing in the background isn't actually somebody that is making the prank call, but is, in fact, the person that is being called.
Aside from all this, I think that you could done a little bit more animation in the movie. However, you did do better in the animation department than some people that simply take sound files and put turn them into a flash movie with a play button. At least there was something added to this sound clip through the use of animation and the conversion to a movie was somewhat useful. So, you didn't do too bad in this respect. You put some effort into it.

PMP responds:

wow, i thought this was a prank call. i just downloaded this off kazaa. thanks for that bit of info.
